Development Process

The Faculty of Chemistry was developed from the Department of Chemistry and Biology, which was established in 1994. Initially, the Faculty was responsible for teaching basic chemistry (General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Nonorganic Chemistry). Year by year, the Faculty has constantly grown and offered programs focused on Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science for meeting the labour market both in Vietnam and abroad. Over nearly 45 years of construction and development, the Faculty has become a prestigious training and research centre in the Central Highlands region. Over the years, the Faculty has trained approximately 10.000 undergraduates and more than 500 Master and PhD students.

Currently, there are 26 full-time staffs in the Faculty, including 02 Assoc. Professors; 9 PhD; 12 MSc; 03 lecturers who are studying PhD abroad, and 01 secretary. The Faculty offers three majors, namely:
  • - Physical and chemical methods;
  • - Analytical chemistry and inorganic;
  • - Organic chemistry.

In 2020, the Faculty covered:
- 04 undergraduate programs:
  • + Bachelor of Chemistry Teacher Education
  • + Bachelor of Chemistry (Specialization in analysis - environment)
  • + Bachelor of Chemistry (Major in Pharmaceutical Chemistry)
  • + Bachelor of Chemistry (Major in High Quality Pharmaceutical Chemistry)
- 03 graduate programs (02 Master programs and 01 PhD program):
  • + Master of Organic Chemistry
  • + Master of Theoretical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry
  • + Doctor of Organic Chemistry

To achieve such great achievements today, the teachers and students of the Faculty offer the deepest appreciation to the dedications of all generations: leaders, teachers, former students, and current students; the support of the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training; The University of Danang and University of Education; effective cooperation of scientific and management organizations here and abroad.
